The discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls reveals that the Qumran Community of the 1st-century had many controversial rules & regulations for Sabbath keeping. What is fascinating is that it is these rules that Jesus referenced when speaking to the Pharisees. Jesus is crowned Lord of the Sabbath, amplifying its importance, calling all to believe in God's rest. Now, after 2000 years of Sabbath divisions, He is calling all to enter that rest as He intended, free from the bondage of men. It's time to rediscover the weightier matters of the Sabbath.
