The Truth About Heaven: A Jubilee Reset is Coming

Transcript
When I say heaven, what do you think about? Because many people have ideas of heaven in mind, and they think often about it as this boring place with winged baby angels playing harps and people floating on clouds. Or as Islam believes, a place where the righteous man receives 72 virgins. Or as the atheist believes, like my beliefs are pretty straightforward. I think you die and it goes black. Whether inspired by imaginations of men or pagan philosophies, the truth about heaven is under attack to corrupt mankind's hope of a future and to corrupt mankind's view of the world to come. Because if Satan can corrupt how we view heaven, he can corrupt how we live in light of the heaven to come. Let's be honest. Most people live as if heaven doesn't exist. They live by the principle of the fear of missing out. They do both good and evil, and they don't know their left hand from their right. They try everything and do everything so they don't miss out on anything because, well, this is the life they've got. But is it? We live on this place called Earth, with systems built around the world as we know it. We wake up, we go to work, we raise our families, we seek fulfillment. And along the way we struggle. We experience death, sickness, poverty and tears. And so it becomes easy for us to think, well, this is all there is. Might as well make the most of it. But it's easy for us to think that, because maybe that's all we know yet. What if this earth, which is our only experience and our normal, will soon pass? And what if what we know as heaven, is going to become the new normal where heavenly creatures exist and where the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit will dwell with man forever? Let's be real. Our life right now feels long, distracting and all consuming. And it's easy for us to live for this life. This is why the primary message of Jesus upon the earth was to live in light of heaven. For example, in Matthew 5:19, he said that those who do and teach the commandments of God will be called greatest and in heaven. He also said to his disciples that if they are persecuted for his name's sake, they will have treasure in heaven. But what will that heaven actually be like? In order for us to understand heaven, we first need to understand how vastly different the kingdom of God is going to be from this world. Look around you. Everything that you can see, hear, smell and touch will be destroyed. Heaven and earth as we know it today will be destroyed. Matthew 24:35 says, Heaven and earth will pass away. But My words will not pass away. In the book of Genesis, when God created the world, it said that he did so by his words. And in Hebrews 11:3 it says, by faith. We understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. So the world was created by the words of God. And after its destruction, Jesus says, even if heaven and earth passes away, My words will remain so. Therefore he will form a new heaven and a new earth by his words that will replace the old. Therefore, to understand the coming kingdom of we can look to his words for understanding. We Read in Revelation 21:1 about this new heaven and earth and its arrival. And it says, then I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven, and the first earth had passed away and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. The reason that the New Jerusalem comes out of heaven from God to earth is because in the new kingdom to come, there is a merge between the spiritual world and the physical world. I want you to remember that part of the curse that came in at the fall of man in Genesis was that mankind was removed and out of the Garden of Eden and an angel was placed at the entrance guarding it. This refers to man's ban from living in the heavenly domain, the place where God is. See, because of sin, the angel guards us from going into God's presence because a dead man cannot face a living God. And I say a dead man because every man is dead in his sins, even whilst he is still breathing. Ephesians 2:1 says, and you were dead in the trespasses and sins. This is why Jesus became the Lamb of God, to die and resurrect, to cleanse us from our sins so that we too may be resurrected from our death so that we can live forever. Our fallen corrupted body that we are living and breathing in right now will die, but we will receive a new resurrected body at the resurrection of the dead. 1 Peter 1:3 says, Blessed be the God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope and through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled and unfading, kept in heaven for you. So after that resurrection, we become truly alive, no longer confined to this body that is passing. And we can then face the God of the living face to face Revelation 21:3 says, and I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. And so we see that the most important difference between this world we're living in right now and heaven is that the new kingdom of God is going to have new people. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come. You cannot put the old man before he got changed by God into a new garden, just as you cannot put new wine into old wineskins. For as Jesus said, if it is so, the skins would burst and the wine is spilt and the skins are destroyed, but new wine is put into fresh wineskins, and so both are preserved. In other words, if we place the old man into the new garden, nothing changes. The fall of man that happened in Genesis with Adam and Eve will just be repeated all over again. Sin will re enter heaven and the man will die, and the garden in his care will be destroyed. The resurrected saints of God will not only have their sin nature removed, but they will have reborn hearts and they will be in unity with God's will. They will serve God and not their own appetites for power, as Adam and eve did. John 3:3 says, Jesus answered him, truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. So now that we understand the nature of the new people God is calling, what is the nature of that new world going to be that they will dwell in? The Bible explains what the nature of that new world will be using the jubilee year. And if you've never heard about the jubilee year. In short, it's a biblical instruction given to Israel where every 50 years there is a type of holy reset. Yeshua even spoke about it himself and explained that he is the fulfillment of of the jubilee year and that he will bring a jubilee upon the earth. In Isaiah 61:1, Jesus says, the Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and the opening of the prison to those who are bound to proclaim the year of the Lord's favourite and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn. As Jesus walked upon the earth, he healed the sick, he ministered to the poor and the brokenhearted. And he gave a taste of the jubilee to all. And he is saying to us in Isaiah that he will fulfill this completely at the time of his second coming. Therefore, when we read about the jubilee reset in the Bible, it becomes our blueprint that God gives for us about what the new heaven and the new earth is going to be like. It all begins with the sounding of a trumpet. In Leviticus 25:9, it says, Then you shall sound a loud trumpet on the 10th day of the seventh month. On the day of atonement, you shall sound the trumpet throughout all your land. And and you shall consecrate the 50th year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you when each of you shall return to his property, and each of you shall return to his clan. That 50th year shall be a jubilee for you. In it you shall neither sow nor reap what grows of itself, nor gather the grapes from from the undressed vines. For it is a jubilee. It shall be holy to you. You may eat the produce of the field. Alright, so in short, we're seeing that there is this trumpet blast that signals a radical change in the way the world is going to operate. All who hear the trumpet are hearing the literal sound of freedom. Everyone is given back their rightful property. Everyone returns to their rightful clan people, and there is no more hard labor. But the land is going to provide for the people. I mean, let's be real. What does all of that sound like? I don't know about you, but to me that sounds like heaven. And when we look at the second coming of Christ, we're seeing the same elements connecting that jubilee fulfillment to Jesus himself. In Matthew 24:31, for example, we read about how he is going to arrive with a trumpet blow. It says, and he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. And so we are seeing this jubilee trumpet blast that surrounds the earth and proclaims the arrival of, of Yeshua's kingdom, a kingdom where we read in Revelation 21:4, that he will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more. Neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. And so we have to really, at this point, come and ask a big question. How is this going to be possible considering the world that we live in right now that is full of pain, full of crying, full of mourning, full of tears, full of death. How could we suddenly live in a world overnight where there is none of that? According to the scriptures, Yeshua is going to bring four areas of major world reform in terms of people, labor, poverty, and slavery. And if you think about it, these four areas are everything. What is wrong with this world? People have broken relationships, they have broken identities, not knowing who they are, and they struggle with purpose, not knowing what they are to do. In terms of labor, this world is full of hard labor where people are struggling to provide for themselves and their families. And when they fail to provide, and when something bad happens, the next thing comes in poverty. As Jesus himself even said, the poor will always be with you. Recognizing the systemic nature of poverty in this world. And number four, slavery. Today, we think slavery is gone, but slavery surrounds us everywhere. And that's perhaps the first one that we can discuss here today. If we think about slavery, it's not just traditional slavery of the past, but sickness, which, whether physical or mental, is a type of slavery, a bondage that has a hold on people. Sin itself can be slavery to people when they are enslaved to their sinful actions and desires. And physical or spiritual prisons of various types are forms of slavery in this world. So Yeshua has come and said, I have come to set the captives free. I am bringing freedom to Those enslaved. Hebrews 2:15 says, he came to deliver all those who, through fear of death, were subject to lifelong slavery. And that's the most universal slavery of it all. Perhaps the fact that all of us have this idea on our mind that our bodies are dying and passing away and we are subject to slavery, to dust, unless we could be resurrected. And so God is coming and saying, no, this kingdom that I am building, this new world is going to be a world where all become servants of only one, the loving God. Leviticus 25:55 says, for it is to me that the people of Israel are servants. They are my servants whom I brought out of the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God. Romans 6:22 says, but now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. The next area of major world reform that Jesus is bringing is, as I mentioned, poverty. When we think about poverty, we can understand that really we are talking about the provision of the needs of people, whether eating, the drinking, clothing, or shelter. But there is also a different type of bankruptcy that is to be spiritually bankrupt. Simply put, those who don't know God are also in a spiritual poverty and then there's also what we see very much today in terms of poverty, a lack of property ownership. This is why when we look upon the most poor of this world, we call them homeless, right? They are recognized and labeled by the fact that they don't have property. So to not have a shelter is the ultimate symbol of poverty. But in the new kingdom to come that Yeshua is going to be establishing, one of the things that are mentioned is that everyone is given their rightful property. There will not be a homeless person. For Yeshua said in John 14:2, in my father's house are many rooms, and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am, you may be also. So Yeshua is speaking about this place. He prepares for us a shelter, a home in his Father's house. Heaven is the kingdom where God owns the house and the land and everything. Leviticus 25:23 says, the land shall not be sold in perpetuity, for the land is mine, for you are strangers and sojourners with me. One of the biggest problems today is that of greed, because everyone is trying to own more than the one next to them. God is saying, no, I am the owner, I am the provider, and greed will not flourish because I share my house with all. And it's important for us to know something about that place. The Father is preparing for us, and that is that he is preparing it according to how we lived our life upon the earth. You know, this is going to be an uncomfortable reality for some, if you've never heard about this before. But the Bible declares that there will be heavenly treasures for people. Romans 2:6 says that God will repay each person according to what they have done. And Matthew 5:19 says, Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments of God and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven. But whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. And so we read about treasures in heaven, we read about hierarchy in heaven. And it's not often taught in churches that there is going to be a greatest and the least or treasures. Because perhaps some Christians truly want to be comfortable with doing the bare minimum thinking that they can slide into heaven just as the gates are closing. But Jesus clearly taught that your life today matters and it will impact your eternal reality. How you live matters. Let me say that again. How you live matters. The third area of reform that Christ is going to bring is in terms of people. One of the biggest problems today is relationship issues between people, loneliness, disunity, quarrels, lack of identity and purpose that people face, people problems. We do not have a lack of them. And in the new kingdom, God declares that everyone will have a place of belonging. Everyone will have an established identity, a calling and a purpose. We're not going to be having a meaningless life floating on clouds, but rather there is going to be meaning to everything we do calling and we are going to understand our identity. There will also be unity among family for some of us. Let's be real. We can listen to this and be like, well, how is that going to happen? I mean, people, they just can't get along. Maybe you'd have just a lot of disunity with people around you and you can't imagine there being unity. But the way that God is going to do this is that everyone is going to return to his rightful people, his rightful clan. As he mentioned in the jubilee writings that we read, I want to remind you of something that happened with Jesus in Matthew 12:46, while he was still speaking to the people. Behold, his mother and his brother stood outside asking to speak to him. But he replied to the man who told him, who is my mother and who are my brothers? And stretching out his hand towards his disciples, he said, here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother. This teaching is quite profound. That our God given clan, our people, our brothers and sisters and fathers and mothers, are reborn disciples of Christ. And this is a comfort for anyone listening that may feel alienated from their earthly family and who may feel lonely upon the earth. God is saying that you will have a family inheritance in heaven. In fact, as we approach the gates of heaven itself, the Word says that the names of the different people groups are going to be engraved upon the gates. It had a great high wall with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels. And on the gates the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel were inscribed. And the fourth area of reform that I'd like to discuss today that Christ is going to bring to this world is in terms of labor. We can't imagine a world without hard labor. Everywhere we look, everyone has responsibility towards labor. In this world, the fall of man brought in a curse. And man was told that he will have to work and toil. Women were taught that she would have to labor in pregnancy and in childbirth. And these aren't the only forms of labor. Some of us are laboring. We're striving to be accepted or loved by men and God. But in the new kingdom to come, there will be no more hard labor. Revelation 14:13 says, and I heard a voice from heaven saying, write this. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on. Blessed indeed, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them. The jubilee announces a return to the Garden of Eden's design, where we will continue to take care of the garden. But the curses of labor will be no more. Instead, the fields will miraculously provide enough for all. We will no longer eat and drink in order to survive and live, but for pleasure. Since we've drank of the living water of life, who is Yeshua, we cannot die. We will live forever. And the whole purpose of eating and drinking shifts completely. And this is the point of it all, that those who have been washed of their sins will enter the kingdom and live forever, and only those who have been washed of their sins. Revelation 22:14 says, Blessed are those who wash their robes so they may have the right to the tree of life, and that they may enter the city by the gates. Outside are the dogs, the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. Maybe you feel unworthy of the heaven that we've been describing. Maybe you've done things that you feel are unacceptable for someone who's heading for heaven. I want you to understand that heaven won't be a place full of people who were good enough on their own strength to enter heaven. Heaven is full of people who realized their sins, repented of their sins, and trusted their life and in the hands of God to be forgiven by Him. We have to understand that the sins that have ruled us, Jesus has overcome, and he is offering you that same victory no matter what you've done. You can be washed clean, you can be forgiven by God and allowed through the gates of heaven. But you have a choice to make. Will you give up this world for the next? Will you give up living for yourself to live for God? Matthew 16:25 says, for whoever would save his life will lose it. But whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. The choice before us is not a scary choice to make. Because when we choose God and get baptized, he comes and rebirths us, he changes our nature and he gives us new life even today. And in this world we can experience new life. We don't have to wait for heaven. That doesn't mean this world is going to be easy. In fact, Yeshua has said, in this world you will have difficulty. But take heart, for I have overcome the world. And so if you've been listening to this and you are like me, filled with hunger for that kingdom of Yeshua to come, filled with gratitude that he has made it available for me, and filled with anticipation to be with him, to dwell with him above all, if that's you and you know you then can be in different places. You can be in a place where you say, I love that idea, but I just can't see myself being able to walk through those gates. Maybe you're in a place where you've been there, where you've thought you could, but now you're feeling like I've messed up and I don't know anymore. Maybe you're in the midst of a dark cloud of trial in your life and you struggle to even see outside of that, to something like heaven. Because darkness around you, wherever you're at, I want you to pray with me. Because God, the whole purpose of Yeshua coming is that he has opened the gates of heaven to all who would accept him, who would repent of their sins. He has allowed us a way back into the Garden of Eden and there is nothing more precious. Brothers and sisters and the fact that you have brothers and sisters waiting for you, that you have God waiting for you, that there is a place where you can go, where there is not going to be hard labor anymore. That there is going to be a place where you do not have to worry about the enslavements of this world anymore or the poverties of various types, spiritual and physical, that we are surrounded by. This is what God offers us with his joy. For Yeshua said, with joy. With joy I go to the cross. With joy he died so that we can live. And so if you want to have a part in that resurrection of Christ, join me in this prayer. Father, I ask that you would come of your spirit and show us how powerful the resurrection of your son is. The promise that as he has resurrected, we too can be resurrected if we put our faith in you. But Father, we have messed up, we have sinned. We are not worthy of heaven according to what we have done. And the only way that we can become worthy and cleansed and washed is if you washed us, if you covered our sins by the blood of the lamb God, there is no way out but one way. You are the only way. The truth and the life. Yeshua, I want you to repeat after me this Yeshua, forgive me of my sins. Forgive me where I have rebelled against you, betray your heart. Make me a new creature. Make me a new person for this new kingdom you are bringing. Soon help me to forgive others as you've forgiven me. And Lord, I eagerly await your resurrection for my soul. I praise you. I thank you. I worship you. God, I thank you so much for the magnitude of this promise. And I look so forward to seeing my brothers and sisters listening to this right now there beyond the gates in the city of Jerusalem. How sweet is the sound of the jubilee which is going to be sounding soon. Come, Yeshua, come. Amen. Thank you for joining me. May the Father bless and keep you. And I look forward to seeing you in the kingdom to come, Sam.
