Your Darkest Season was for a Reason — Tabernacles 2026

Transcript
Joseph received a dream, a dream that was scandalous. His brothers and his family— you guys can sit if you'd like, I'm going to take a moment here— his brothers and his family are bowing down before him, and this anointing of the Lord enrages his brothers so much so that they sell him, they betray him into slavery. And from that place, Joseph ends up in Potiphar's household, as you know, and there he's tempted by Potiphar's wife. He refuses the temptation, the sin, the drawing of Satan to destroy his identity in the Lord and his calling. And from there, what happens? He's betrayed into prison. Everything that was promised to him is now a distant memory. He's there for years, and I can only imagine the depression. I can only imagine the temptation to harbor hatred and bitterness towards his brothers that caused him to be in this position? Because now I'm here, it's dark, I have a dream. What is going to happen to me? I am at— and guys, you need to understand, a slave is at the bottom of the Egyptian caste system. You are no one.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker A:And now he interprets a dream, and suddenly he's called in by the king, Pharaoh. Now you also need to understand that to be called into the courts of Pharaoh means that you're either going to walk out living and exalted, or they're going to drag your body out. Because if you don't get this interpretation of his dream right, you're not going to live.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker A:You're a slave after all. You are nothing. You are dirt. Can you imagine being in that prison cell for all those years, Satan doing everything to break his resolve, to break his spirit? And he's now looking at this call from the king of the land to give an interpretation. And if— and now what does he have to offer as a slave? What does he have to offer as someone who the entire society has said, you are nothing? And so he walks into that place, he interprets the dream of the Pharaoh, and we know how the rest of the story goes. He is exalted to the right hand of Pharaoh. Moses, a few hundred years later, he, as the prince of Egypt, one day sees a Hebrew slave suffering at the hand of an Egyptian, and he intervenes and he kills the Egyptian. His heart is to save the Hebrew, but Moses is thrown out. He's cast into exile of the land, and he is running for his life, for he is a killer and he is known as a killer. And he— I imagine that he has no hope of returning. I imagine that he is haunted in the night by that memory. And then one day Moses is called to a burning bush, and at that burning bush he comes with a broken spirit because God tells him, I want you to go back to that place, those people who rejected you, that place you ran from, and I want you to go and tell Pharaoh, to tell all the Egyptians, to tell Israel, let my people go. Let my people go. And what does Moses say? What anyone probably would. You got the wrong guy. Go pick someone else. My tongue is slow of speech. I'm a killer after all.
Speaker C:I'm a sinner.
Speaker A:Things have happened to my life that have deemed me unworthy of the call and the anointing of the Lord. And what does the Lord say? You know, this is the one place in the Bible that where it says, and the Lord got very angry. Because here his son is telling him what he can and cannot do through him. And that's sometimes what we like to do. We love to tell God what he can or cannot do through us because of what's happened to us, because what our family has done to us when they betrayed us into slavery or whatever.
Speaker C:Amen.
Speaker A:Because we have came into a position in our life where we had to make a decision, and everyone thinks we're a killer, and that's all we are, that's what we'll ever be. But the Father sees something deeper. He sees what really happened in that time of your life. And so don't let Satan come and tell you that you're not worthy, you can't be used because of what's happened to you, what— or what you've done.
Speaker B:Amen.
Speaker A:Because each and every one of you have a calling to appear before Pharaoh. Joseph needed to appear before Pharaoh. Moses needed to appear before Pharaoh. You need to appear before Pharaoh, and it's not because of your talent or your strength or what you can muster up. It's in fact because of what you don't have, because it's what you don't have. It's because of your weakness that you can realize I can't do this, and you can be like Moses and say, "Well, I can't." I'll do this. So what are you going to do with me? And so what does he say? He says, Moses, pick up the staff. And so he picks up the staff and the staff turns into a snake and he drops it. And he picks— and God says, pick up the staff again. He picks it up and it— pick up the snake again and it turns into a staff. Moses, put your hand on your side. He does it and he takes it out and it is leprous. Moses, put it back. He puts it back. He takes it out and it is clean again. Moses, water. He pours water and it becomes his blood. God gives signs to Joseph to interpret a dream, to Moses for these miraculous signs. See, it had nothing to do with how strong they were physically. It had nothing to do with their connections in this world. It had nothing to do with anything that they themselves have ever done, even though we can do a lot of good things. Hallelujah! He's given us strength, but none of these things were what qualified their anointing. It was the fact that they said, I am weak, I am not qualified, and I'm gonna go in faith into a place where I will be killed if you don't show up. And there are places you've been called that you need to walk into. You need to walk into Pharaoh's courts, and you will be killed by nature. If it was just dependent on nature and what you can do, you'd be killed. But God is gonna empower you. You need to walk in there with the strength of the Holy Spirit and understand who your God is and the faith that He has given you. I want to give you this word tonight as I'm ending here because I believe that there are some of you who are sitting here who has an amazing calling, and you are Joseph. You've been sitting in prison for a long time, and the opportunity has availed itself where you've heard the call to enter Pharaoh's courts. Or you've been Moses and you've heard the Lord at the burning bush and you've been too scared. He's not given us a spirit of fear but power, love, and a sound mind. That Spirit's name is the Holy Spirit who comes upon you and makes you the holy vessel. for his possession and usage. And so I want to call you that when you go home from this Feast, that you go home with a new boldness to face whatever, whatever's happened to you and not let that become your identity. Walk into the calling the Lord has given you.
Speaker B:If you know that that's for you, would you stand up right now? You don't have to think about it. Just stand up.
Speaker C:Guys, I also want to take a moment and pray for you watching from online as well. You know, I think sometimes things happen to our lives, like when Joseph received that dream. And, you know, Joseph goes and he tells his family about this dream of them bowing down to him. Was that the wisest thing for him to do in that time and moment? Maybe, maybe not. When Moses saw the Egyptian and the Hebrew slave, and he intervened, and he killed the Egyptian, was that the wisest thing for Moses to do in that moment? Maybe, maybe not. But regardless, God used these moments, these situations where people from the outside looking in, they'd be quick to judge. They'd be quick to say, well, Joseph was being so prideful. He's just a spoiled brat. Or Moses, he's just a murderer. Cast them out into prison, into exile. Get rid of them. They are obviously what they are. But God saw the circumstances, the situation. He looked deeper. And from there, God ultimately used the condemnation that came from men towards Joseph and Moses to eventually resurrect them, to eventually take Joseph to the second-in-command of all of Egypt, to eventually take Moses to lead Israel out into the wilderness and towards the Promised Land. And so you will also face situations in your life, and I believe you have, where you know And God knows what truly transpired. And you may well have had a hand in that situation. Moses did have a hand in killing that Egyptian. Joseph did have a hand in sharing that dream. But yet God sees under the surface the deeper truth of the matter. You know, my name, my name is Peter Daniel. Daniel, Means God is my judge. See, God is our judge. We will stand before Him, and that means that no matter what people, where people have placed you in a prison or an exile, a place of not being, you can't be used by God anymore. You don't have value for His kingdom anymore because of what's happened to you and the role that you've played. I want to share with you that. This Tabernacles, God is calling you into the encouragement that you can be used. And in fact, perhaps what has been done to you is for such a time as this, so that that character can be created in you because of the trials that you've gone through, so that you'd be able to do the impossible mission that God has placed before you, a mission that can only be accomplished By your surrender, a mission that can only be accomplished by feasting in the Messiah, His life, and His power of the Holy Spirit working in and through you. So, Father, I pray for everyone who's listening, who's had a moment in their life of trial, and who are going through it perhaps now. I pray, Lord, that You would come and. Give them boldness. Give them courage and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Fill them with strength to go and approach Pharaoh, to stand up and not be broken by their past, but strengthened by it. Lord, You use brokenness and You turn it into light and life for those around us so that all may feast on the One who is our Deliverer, because we know Him as our Deliverer. We have seen Him deliver. And Father, I ask for— that You would give us also the wisdom to move forward in the understanding of righteousness, that we would make the right decisions going forward in our lives, that we would not repeat mistakes of the past. And yet we thank You that You use those mistakes for Your glory when we put them before You. Pray all this in the name of Yeshua the Messiah. Amen. Thank you so much for joining me. May the Father bless and keep you. And as we end the Feast of Tabernacles, I pray that this new year would be a time of you tabernacling with Him like never before. And even in the difficulties of trial, that you would find Him there like never before, because that's where our God meets us.
Speaker B:The prison doors are open.
Speaker C:Amen.
Speaker B:Just walk out. Your praise opens prison doors. All your chains have fallen off, but you still have to choose to walk. The blood of the Lamb has been put upon the doorposts of the children of Israel in slavery, but they still have to walk. Walk in freedom. Walk out of Egypt. Walk. Run.
Speaker A:God bless you, brother. And no matter where he is, whatever he's been through, to do it for you.
Speaker B:Yes, I know.
Joseph was betrayed into prison. Moses was exiled to the wilderness. Both felt abandoned, broken, and considered disqualified by men—yet both were called by God to stand boldly before Pharaoh.
In this message for Tabernacles 2026, discover how God qualifies the called through tribulation, weakness, surrender, and the power of the Holy Spirit. No matter your past, God is giving you the boldness to rise up to your calling and face your Pharaoh.
