God gave me a strange vision - Why Abraham Nearly Killed Isaac
Transcript
I'd like to share with you a vision I received a few weeks ago. I saw the hands of Jesus, and I saw them as being pierced. And as I looked upon them, I felt someone came over to my left shoulder. And suddenly a knife was put to my throat. And immediately I grew confused. I cried out to the Father and I said, God, why is there a knife to my throat? God, what is happening? I don't understand that this makes no sense at all. I know your will is good for me. I know you love me. Why is there a blade to my throat? As I realize I'm about this far away from dying. And suddenly I hear her stop and the knife is taken away. And then I realize, so it is with each and every one of us. Because of our sin, we've each had a blade to our throat, and death was where our destiny lied. But at the last moment, the Father said, stop. And then we looked over and saw a sheep stuck in a thorny bush. And that's when I saw it. I saw Yeshua with his crown of thorns. The crown of thorns that were placed upon him is the persecutions. It's the beating, it's the piercings of Christ. It was all of the things that I deserved. It was the blade to my throat. But he saved me. And now he stands resurrected. Brother, Sister, I want you to remember the reality of what God has saved you from. Imminent permanent death. And if it happened so that the Father allowed my throat to be cut, the Father would have done nothing wrong because it would have only been because of my own actions. But he stepped in and said, stop. He did it for me. He did it for you. And everything that was coming my way instead went his way instead. And so, just as Isaac was spared when Abraham was about to kill Isaac and God said, stop, so you've been spared when God said, stop. And provided a worthy sacrifice. Do not lose sight of what he has done and what that means for you. That you are redeemed and that you are destined to be resurrected with Christ. Remember to praise him for it. Remember to thank him for it. And remember that no matter the persecutions and the trials that come our way, they allow us to be more intimate with a little bit more intimate with what he went through, even though we would never even get close to experiencing what he went through. And it allows us to grow in compassion, to share the truth of what he has done for us with others. And so if you think it was kind of unusual for me in my vision to see life to my throat, well, he practically did it with Christ as he was pierced in his side with a spear. That was not a pretty sight as blood and water poured out of him. That is all the more strange because he is all the more holy than someone like me of my own self and accord. And yet God has done it for me to make me white as snow. Something that is as horrendous as piercing the Son of Man who was perfect with blood coming out of him, resulted in a perfection created within me and within you. Becoming cleansed from all spilling of blood, all unrighteousness, all penalty that sin brings to be redeemed forever. Father, I thank you for what you have done for me and everyone listening. I thank you, Lord, that you said stop at the last moment. That you ripped us from darkness into your glorious light. Father, I ask that you would help us to live a life worthy of the call. A life, Lord, that sets captives free as the sun did. Indeed, Father, I thank you for the light you've put on us. Help us to shine brightly in the name of Yeshua. Amen. Thank you for joining me. May the Father bless and keep you. Shine his face upon you. Lift up his countenance upon you. Give you his shalom and his mercy and his grace. I'll see you in the next one. Shalom.
When Abraham bound and nearly killed his own son Isaac, it was a story about you. A reminder of the great kindness of God that spoke "Stop" at the very last moment, saving us and providing a sacrifice.
