The American Dream is the western world's ideal: A pursuit of happiness each person is in a race for. But as good as the "American Dream" sounds, is it Biblical? I would like to submit to you that many believers are chasing after a ghost of the American Dream full of empty promises. Some of us have pursued it, only to be left feeling more lonely than ever before. And even for those of us who tried avoiding it, this mindset has influenced the way we see ourselves, others, and even God.

Today I'd like to take you on a journey to a strange story few people know in the Bible: The Test of the Adulterous Woman. A story not just about an adulterous woman, but each of us. What does an adulterous woman have to do with you? Everything, because God has called you to become a spotless Bride of Christ, and one day we will each need to take an oath of innocence. But Yeshua warns us that some who considered themselves believers will be in danger on this day.

The thief on the cross had nothing to offer God, yet Christ saved Him at his last moments because of His faith. The simplicity of the gospel is genuinely demonstrated. But the thief has also often been brought up as the role model for living a Christian life of "mere belief" without deep commitment towards the faith. Did Christ die for us to live as the thief, only to realize the mistake on our deathbed? In reality, it actually seems as though the thief was one of the worst examples to follow, while Christ's life of radical fruit remains the only role model worth looking to.

God has called a new era upon us, where His people have become walking temples of Spirit & Truth bringing in a great harvest. But it's going to require of His people to leave the edges of the field for the poor, so they may receive the True Manna from Heaven.
