More than anything, the tongue exposes the inward parts of our heart, the kingdom we serve, and sin. James asks: "Who can tame it?" But through the power of the Holy Spirit changing our nature, the tongue will follow.

James also warns that the tongues of those with influence will be judged more strictly. The compromise of the Gospel, ticking of ears, and building of own kingdoms among men is of selfish ambition & bitter jealousy - the two symptoms of the corrupted tongue.

Some have thought: "if only we had more teaching on this, we could solve every problem" or "if only prophecy can go forth" "if only speaking in tongues was more accepted" "if only everyone did more evangelism" or "if… if… if…"

If we can all come together, learn from one another in honor, and give each other room to practice their gifts, perhaps then we can see: Eph 4:13 "Until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." Instead of callings being that which divide, rather, let them bring us together.

Instead of maturity in one gift, the Body can mature into the stature of Christ.

Recognizing that it's not just about us, nor what God called us to. It's about His greater purposes working together in all His people. Do not let your tunnel-vision cause you to miss God's-vision happening around you.

Many have picked a side when it comes to James vs. Paul, and the relationship of faith & works. We have built denominations on this very idea. It can seem as if their words stand in opposition, but what if both authors are saying the same thing, from different perspectives?

Every war of this world has started because of the spirit of hatred that rules the heart of the world. Men find fault with one another and divide. Men live & die over racism, nationalism, economics, sexism and even denominationalism. The poor remains hungry, women remain dictated, our citizenship remains worldly, or our assembly racially-single.

But according to James 2, partiality is to be put away from believers. God is calling you to breach worldly barriers for Kingdom victories.

In our desire to run away from everything that was evil, we ran away from that which was good. In our desire to honor God by keeping His commandments, we proclaimed the first part of the book at the cost of the second. Because everything the revelation of truth was supposed to change in us, never changed. We're still angry, we're still prideful, and we still minimize the full walk of Yeshua.

Deliverance has become a very polarizing topic, and sometimes for good reason. The fear of demons exists in some circles, and has caused some to feel the need to reply on complicated deliverance prayers without a biblical source.
